I Chronicles 21:1 and 2: Satan Tempts us to put our trust in that which we possess. It is his desire that we trust in our own efforts and in all we can accumulate. We are to trust in God alone (Luke 12:13-21).
I Chronicles 21:3: Joab gives David Godly council. Nothing is of more value than solid Godly council (Proverbs 11:14). Joab reminds David that the people are not his; they are the Lord’s people (Exodus 4:22).
Psalm 81:10: God calls Israel’s attention to the way in which He blessed abundantly in the past, when they walked by faith and they followed His ways. Years ago there was far more respect for God’s word and most everything was better as a result.
Psalm 81:11: Israel forgot God and walked away from Him. Our country has done the same. Sadly, believers have failed miserably to sound any effective alarm (Ezekiel 33:1-9).
Philippians 1:27: We should all live in such a way that our life is a life worthy of the Gospel. Our lives should be of value to the one who died for us. Because He died for us, we ought to live for Him. We should join ourselves together with other believers with one common goal and purpose of spreading the Gospel and our blessed faith.
