Date

Mark 7:24-30:  Gentiles are denied blessing and counted as dogs at the foot (beneath) the children’s (Israel’s) table.

Luke 7:1-10:  Gentiles receive a limited blessing by acknowledging that all blessings flow only through the Nation of Israel (Genesis 17:6 and 7).

Romans 3:29 and 30:  Jew and Gentile are blessed alike with no preference given to the Jew at all (Romans 10:12 and 13).

Now at this time, Jews and Gentiles are all placed into a body of believers together (I Corinthians 12:13).

Setting Proper Standards

Date

Pastor James Zaebst

Matthew 7:1 and 2:  At first glance, we have what might appear to be a prohibition against making moral judgments.  It is not a prohibition against making judgments  at all.  It is a reminder that any standard that we set for the behavior of others will be applied to us as well.  If I set a standard for others, they will in turn hold me to that same standard.  Sin is sin and it displeases God (Psalm 7:11).  We should never excuse sin (Isaiah 5:20).
