I-Corinthians 1:23:  The one and only hope of the world as far as being reconciled to God is Christ’s death on the cross (Romans 5:10).  Without Christ’s blood no remission of sin is possible (Leviticus 17:11 and Hebrews 9:22). The world may stumble over this or think it pure foolishness but it is God’s way (Isaiah 55:9).

The world continually desires to redefine Christ. The church must stand firm in Preaching Christ crucified (Jude 1:3).

We must not preach Christ as merely a problem solver.
Some in His day saw Him as merely that (John 12:12-19).
Hosanna means save now. They wanted saved from Roman oppression. When Christ did not deliver they hung Him on a cross (John 19:15).

We must not preach Christ as a relationship fixer.
Those that looked for this were disappointed
(Luke 12:13 and 14).
This is not who Christ is at all (Luke 12:51-53).

We must not preach Christ as a source of financial gain.
Some thought this and were disappointed (Luke 9:57 and 58).
A relationship with Christ may make you poorer
(Mark 10:17-22).

We must never preach Christ as a buddy or merely a friend.
The twelve were not chosen by a buddy (Mark 8:27-29).
They knew Christ was Lord and God (John 20:25-28).
